Hyundai Announces Genesis Luxury Brand

Last week, Hyundai announced that they will be spinning of a separate Luxury brand, named Genesis.  In what was a widely anticipate move, Hyundai will use Genesis as the name for the new brand, taking the name of one of their two current high-end models, with the other being the Equus.

 

The plan is for six new models to be part of the Genesis line by the year 2020.  The first Genesis model, the G90, will be unveiled in December, and is expected to be the flagship for the brand.

If you are looking for a mid-size sedan, be sure to look at the Hyundai Sonata.  The Sonata outclasses the competition in any number of ways.  Let's take a look head-to-head with the Toyota Camry (both 2015 models.

 

Starting with price, the Sonata comes in with a base MSRP of over $1800 less than the Camry.  This despite getting better highway mileage (37 vs. 35 mpg), more horsepower (185 vs. 178 hp), and, of course, a much longer drivetrain warranty (Hyundai's signature 10 year, 100,000 miles warranty vs. Toyota's 5-year, 60,000 mile)
