Hyundai has announced a 2016 launch for a new alternative-fuel car, the Ioniq. The Iioniq will be the first vehicle available in three electrified powertrains: electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid. Global launch is scheduled for January, 2016 in Korea, with auto shows in Geneva and New York to follow.
The Ioniq will be Hyundai's first-ever all-electric offering, and is an important step in their efforts to be a world leader in the green car market space. The Ioniq will be based on an entirely new platform, made specifically for it's different powertrain options.
