Hyundai Ioniq

This year at the Washington D.C. Auto Show, Hyundai will be showcasing their three newest and most eco-friendly models yet, the 2017 Ioniq Electric, Ioniq Hybrid and Ioniq Plug-In, in addition to their two prototypes, the Ioniq Land Speed Record and Ioniq Autonomous versions.

These new Ioniq vehicles are going to be Hyundai’s path to the future, the Ioniq Hybrid and Ioniq Electric will be available to consumers in early 2017 with the Ioniq Plug-In will be arriving in late 2017.

"Ioniq will attract an entirely new group of eco- and efficiency-oriented buyers in the U.S. market. With outstanding powertrain flexibility, design, connectivity, and advanced technologies, Ioniq meets the needs of a large and growing group of buyers needing a highly efficient, low-emissions vehicle without compromise to their daily lifestyles."
-Mike O'Brien, vice president of Corporate, Product and Digital Planning, Hyundai Motor America.

According to fueleconomy.gov, the EPA's source for fuel economy information, all three variants of the Ioniq have done remarkably well in the form of the Hyundai models the Ioniq Blue hybrid, the hybrid Ioniq and the Ioniq Electric. All 3 beat the 2017 Toyota Prius as the Ioniq's possible closest competitor. The fueleconomy.gov website has a rather nice side-by-side comparison facility where you can load in the cars of your choice to compare gas/electric milage and even end-user costs. The basic 2017 Hyundai Ioniq comes in at 54 mph highway, 55 mph city and 55 combined. The 2017 Hyundai Ioniq Blue does 59 mph highway, 57 mph city and 58 combined. The 2017 Hyundai Ioniq Electric does the best with 122 mph highway, 10 mph city and 136 combined.

With this great fuel efficacy, you get Hyundai’s great warranties, 5-year/60,000-mile fully transferable new vehicle limited warranty, Hyundai's 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty and five years of complimentary Roadside Assistance.

Hyundai is bringing the future to now

Hyundai’s Blue Link service has revolutionized the way a car communicates with its owner via smartphone. And now, at CES 2017 Hyundai has announced its partnership Google Home.

Hyundai Blue Link now partners with whichever smart device you use in your home, whether it is your smartphone, Apple Watch, Android Wear device, Amazon Alexa and now the Google Home.  Hyundai now lets you actually talk to your car, and you don’t have to be on the Jetsons or Knight Rider. With Google Home, you can tell your car to start and warm up or you can make sure your doors are locked without picking up your keys.  Planning a trip? Look up the directions on Google Maps and send it out to the car!

Hyundai’s implementation is one of the first official integrations for controlling a car with a digital home assistant. Additionally, Hyundai claims that it’ll be adding more features.  Hyundai says it will continue to add skills to both Google Home and Amazon Alexa over the coming months, and before you know it, you're going to be able to tell your call to pick you up from work.

It's free, and it's available right now. All you need is a Google Home and a Hyundai car with Blue Link, which can be found on most Hyundai vehicles from as far back as 2013. Check out our Inventory of Hyundai’s and contact us to test drive the future, now.
