Hyundai Santa Fe's 2017 Refresh

The Hyundai Santa Fe is a capable family hauler that seats 7 with reasonable starting price. The Santa Fe gets an ample refresh for 2017; now sporting a revised front and rear, new driver assistance systems, and upgraded technology.

The 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe comes equipped with a 3.3 L V6 engine that produces 290 horsepower and 252 lb-ft of torque.  The V6 is paired to a six speed transmission and all trim levels have the option of either front or all-wheel drive. When properly equipped, you can tow up to 5,000 lbs. The Santa Fe is now equipped with the new Drive Mode Select, a 3-position setting that enables the driver to customize steering feedback and shifting with 3 modes: Economy, Comfort, and Sport mode. Robust power and excellent driver assist features are paired to a loftier suspension that makes for an enjoyable and stress free driving experience.

The interior of the Santa Fe has been given many notable upgrades that really enhance the overall appeal. Blue Link telematics, now standard on all Santa Fe’s, offer a vast array of assistance features like turn by turn navigation, remote start, stolen-vehicle recovery, SOS emergency assistance and onboard diagnostic info.

The Santa Fe’s shining attribute would have to be the enormous panoramic sunroof that stretched from the drivers seat back into the third row. Very few competitors offer a panoramic sunroof, and the ones that do are broken into separate pieces, while the Santa Fe’s is simply one glorious glass roof.

The Santa Fe earned the title of 2017 Top Safety Pick+ in IIHS testing by receiving the highest rating possible in all crash test evaluations. Standard safety features this year include adjustable pedals, rollover protection system, traction control, blind spot monitoring, and lane departure warning. This also includes automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, forward collision warning and adaptive cruise control when equipped with the Ultimate package. This encompassing array of features makes for stellar safety and absolute peace of mind while driving with the family.

Hyundais refresh for the Santa Fe gives it the credibility it needed to become a serious player in this years market. If you’re looking for an affordable family hauler, this SUV is going to be a great fit- and an enjoyable one as well. Hyundais Quirky Little Compact- The Veloster

The Hyundai Veloster is a quirky little coupe hatch with three doors and seats for four. There are four available trim levels, all unique and thoughtfully crafted to fit your driving and comfort preferences. The Veloster offers distinct style, numerous standard amenities, and competitive value through a low starting price and substantial fuel efficiency.

The new Veloster sports a 1.6 L 4 cylinder engine with an output of 132 horsepower and 120 lb-ft of torque. This configuration gets 33 mpg, which is pretty impressive for the class. As all Hyundais do, the Veloster comes standard with BlueLink. Other standard features for the base model include heated mirrors, a 7 inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and a six speaker audio system.  The base starting price is $18,100- way below the average for this class.

The Velosters new Value Edition offers some minor exterior upgrades and a multitude of top of the line amenities. Steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters control the six speed dual cluth transmission. The powertrain is retained from the base model, but you get an additional panoramic sunroof, keyless ignition and entry, dual zone automatic climate control, a navigation system, and an upgrade to an eight speaker sound system. The Value Edition offers all that the base does and much more, and is starting at just $21,350.

The Turbo R Spec, the next step up, really makes things interesting. For just $800 more than the Value Edition, the turbocharged engine in the R Spec offers real power with a robust output of 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque.  Hearty power is coupled with a svelte sport tuned suspension and steering and a B&M short throw shifter for the six speed manual. It also comes equipped with an aerodynamic body kit, projector headlights, and special Turbo R Spec interior accents.

The top trim level is the Turbo. The Turbo retains the turbocharged engine and gains the option of an automatic or manual transmission.  The suspension is converted to a more comfortable set up, and the interior is given a luxurious makeover with leather seats and a sharper looking console. The Turbo starts at an MSRP of 22,600.

The Veloster is a stylish renegade amongst the coupe/hatch lineup that makes its own rules. No one can tell you how to look or many doors you should have, Veloster, you keep on keeping on! Check out our Hyundai inventory or request information/updates here at our site!
