Hyundai's "N" Division to Build Genesis G70 Sports Coupe

As details become more clear on Hyundai's new Genesis luxury line, we are finding out more about future vehicles beyond the flagship sedan, the G90.  According to Albert Biermann, former chief engineer at BMW's M division, and now head of Hyundai's new N performance division, the G70 will be a "whole new animal".  "This will be more on the sporty side already in the normal version, so you [can] expect [a] really nice-handling car.

The G70 sport coupe will be powered by a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6, with an expectation at this point of a 400+ horsepower output, rivaling German counterparts.   Hyundai has been known for value and dependability in the past, and now seeks to add luxury and performance with the new Genesis line.

A total of six new models are expected under the new Genesis badge by the year 2020.

It's When, Not if, on Hyundai Santa Cruze

Hyundai Santa Cruz Concept

At the Detroit Auto Show, Hyundai USA CEO Dave Zuchowski said that at this point, we are just waiting for a formal announcement from Hyundai as to when the Santa Cruze goes into production.

The Santa Cruze is expected to be a four-door SUV-based pickup, with seating for five.  While it will have a pick-up truck bed (and an extendable one at that), it's not expected to be a work-horse type truck.  It will be aimed more at the small SUV and crossover markets rather than the truck market.

Check back at Gurley Leep Hyundai often for more news on a scheduled launch day for the Hyundai Santa Cruze.
