This year
at the Washington D.C. Auto Show, Hyundai will be showcasing their three newest
and most eco-friendly models yet, the 2017 Ioniq Electric, Ioniq Hybrid and
Ioniq Plug-In, in addition to their two prototypes, the Ioniq Land Speed Record
and Ioniq Autonomous versions.
These
new Ioniq vehicles are going to be Hyundai’s path to the future, the Ioniq
Hybrid and Ioniq Electric will be available to consumers in early 2017 with the
Ioniq Plug-In will be arriving in late 2017.

According
to fueleconomy.gov, the EPA's source for fuel economy information, all three
variants of the Ioniq have done remarkably well in the form of the Hyundai models
the Ioniq Blue hybrid, the hybrid Ioniq and the Ioniq Electric. All 3 beat the
2017 Toyota Prius as the Ioniq's possible closest competitor. The
fueleconomy.gov website has a rather nice side-by-side comparison facility
where you can load in the cars of your choice to compare gas/electric milage
and even end-user costs. The basic 2017 Hyundai Ioniq comes in at 54 mph
highway, 55 mph city and 55 combined. The 2017 Hyundai Ioniq Blue does 59 mph
highway, 57 mph city and 58 combined. The 2017 Hyundai Ioniq Electric does the
best with 122 mph highway, 10 mph city and 136 combined.
